Volunteer Policy and Procedure
Applicants must be 18 years or over.
Children
If you have responsibilities for children under 17 on-site you will need to arrange for an appropriate adult to oversee your children during your volunteer shifts.
Medical Conditions
If you have any medical conditions or disabilities, please ensure that you put this on the volunteer application form.
References
In the reference section of the volunteer application form all applicants need to supply the name of a referee who we can approach for verbal or written references, or for feedback. This should be a church leader, preferably one who oversees your involvement in a ministry. Please note: a parent / relative cannot be a referee.
Safeguarding Policy
The safeguarding and welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults at our events is of the utmost importance and for your own protection. By submitting your application, you declare that you are happy to read and adhere to our safeguarding policy which you will receive prior to the event.
DBS certified
Due to the nature of the family camp DBS certification is required for our volunteers. ABOUND reserves the right to require a DBS check for any volunteer. If you’ve been certified already, please supply us with your reference number on the application form. If you have not yet been certified, our team will be in touch and ask you for additional information in order to do the necessary checks and certification.
Training Day
All volunteers must attend a volunteer training session on the morning of Friday 18th August, just before the event starts. This training is compulsory.
Worker Start and End Times
Each team will work different hours and shifts. It is likely you will work an 8 hour day (with additional breaks).
Camping
ABOUND Family camp volunteers can qualify for free camping on the site by volunteering for at least 3 days. This is one pitch of free camping, therefore if you have a family, you could bring them and you can all benefit from free camping. Please make us aware of this on your application form if this is what you are doing.
Bringing Family
We welcome volunteers to bring family along to the ABOUND Camp, and will provide free tickets for spouses and children for those volunteering at least 3 days.
Volunteer Apparel
Volunteers will be provided with one t-shirt to wear or a high-vis while they are working. The required size should be requested in the appropriate section on the application form. Please ensure that your clothing is appropriate, modest and that footwear is comfortable.
Team Leaders
Volunteers will be responsible to their team leaders and are expected to undertake duties and tasks working as part of a Christian team under the leadership of their team leaders. More info will be available on this closer to the event.
Approval as volunteer
Due to DBS and reference checking, please allow 2-3 weeks to receive your acceptance email. If you have not heard from us in that period, then send an email to volunteer@4front-theatre.com
Photography
Please note there will be a photographer and videographer team onsite. If you do not wish to be part of these photos / videos please let us know in the comments part of the application.
Privacy Policy
By accepting these policies, you are allowing us to use this data to contact you if needed and pass parts of the data to the head of the teams to allow them to plan how their team will operate.
