ABOUND Family Camp 2023
Volunteer Policy and Procedure

Applicants must be 18 years or over.

If you have responsibilities for children under 17 on-site you will need to arrange for an appropriate adult to oversee your children during your volunteer shifts.

Medical Conditions

If you have any medical conditions or disabilities, please ensure that you put this on the volunteer application form.

In the reference section of the volunteer application form all applicants need to supply the name of a referee who we can approach for verbal or written references, or for feedback. This should be a church leader, preferably one who oversees your involvement in a ministry. Please note: a parent / relative cannot be a referee.

Safeguarding Policy

The safeguarding and welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults at our events is of the utmost importance and for your own protection. By submitting your application, you declare that you are happy to read and adhere to our safeguarding policy which you will receive prior to the event.

DBS certified

Due to the nature of the family camp DBS certification is required for our volunteers. ABOUND reserves the right to require a DBS check for any volunteer. If you’ve been certified already, please supply us with your reference number on the application form. If you have not yet been certified, our team will be in touch and ask you for additional information in order to do the necessary checks and certification.

Training Day

All volunteers must attend a volunteer training session on the morning of Friday 18th August, just before the event starts. This training is compulsory.

Worker Start and End Times

Each team will work different hours and shifts. It is likely you will work an 8 hour day (with additional breaks).

ABOUND Family camp volunteers can qualify for free camping on the site by volunteering for at least 3 days. This is one pitch of free camping, therefore if you have a family, you could bring them and you can all benefit from free camping. Please make us aware of this on your application form if this is what you are doing.

Bringing Family

We welcome volunteers to bring family along to the ABOUND Camp, and will provide free tickets for spouses and children for those volunteering at least 3 days.

Volunteer Apparel

Volunteers will be provided with one t-shirt to wear or a high-vis while they are working. The required size should be requested in the appropriate section on the application form. Please ensure that your clothing is appropriate, modest and that footwear is comfortable.

Team Leaders

Volunteers will be responsible to their team leaders and are expected to undertake duties and tasks working as part of a Christian team under the leadership of their team leaders. More info will be available on this closer to the event.
